Kylie Rae vs. Nyla Rose

AEW announced two major signings to their Women’s Division, which, to this point, only included Dr. Britt Baker and Penelope Ford as new signings. Baker and Ford are two of the best, but the onus was on Brandi Rhodes to add even more talented women to the AEW roster.

She certainly delivered with the latest two signings, too, adding Kylie Rae and Nyla Rose to the roster. Fans were already tipped off to Rae’s signing, as she and Sammy Guevara were mentioned as expected signings about a week ago.

It was truly wonderful to see Rae’s signing made official, and the crowd was absolutely fired up for her. Rae is one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world, and it was honestly a surprise that she hadn’t been signed sooner. Trained at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling in Houston, Texas, Rae has all kinds of potential and should be headed for a dream feud with Baker one day.

But before that, she’ll have a different dream match at Double or Nothing. Because during her announcement, she was interrupted by a pissed-off Nyla Rose, who was the other new signing to the AEW Women’s Division. Rose stared a hole right through Rae as she entered the poolside area and refused to shake Rae’s hand; Brandi had to prevent this situation from escalating.

Rose is another incredible signing for AEW. She’s an absolute bad-ass and, like Sonny Kiss, is an important signing for All Elite as an openly trans wrestler. The Rose signing and her proximal stand-off with Rae mean a lot to wrestling fans who have been calling for better representation, and it’s truly wonderful to see two LGBTQ wrestlers joining AEW in the same night. Rose isn’t a big name by any means, but she has a world of potential; this coming match against Rae could be a show-stealer on a loaded card.
