Among the many big announcements for AEW at the Double or Nothing Ticket Party, the biggest is that Kenny Omega has signed with AEW.

Kenny Omega is one of the biggest stars in wrestling outside of WWE, and has skyrocketed to the top of the industry. Omega was a founding member of The Elite with Nick Jackson and the Young Bucks, and was instrumental in the rise of NJPW in North America. Omega had a series of legendary matches with Kazuchika Okada that are considered to be some of the greatest wrestling bouts of all time. These matches led to Omega being called the Best Bout Machine.

Omega’s contract with NJPW ended on February 1st, and as an ongoing storyline on their YouTube show, Being the Elite, we were left wondering where he would sign. Omega lost his phone in an episode of the show, and a countdown was displayed on it. That countdown ended on February 7th, the day of the Double or Nothing Ticket Party.

Omega made his entrance to a great reaction, and announced officially that he has signed with AEW. His journey in Japan has ended for now, but he was going to continue to change the world with the Young Bucks. He said that at All In he could feel the energy of the crowd and what change the world meant, and wondered why it couldn’t be all the time. In the words of Omega, now it will be.

However, that wasn’t the only blockbuster part of the announcement – Chris Jericho came out and stood face to face with Omega, clearly looking for a fight. A brawl broke out between the two, and security and agents had to break it up. Jericho kept yelling obscenities at Omega as the Jericho was dragged away from the crowd. Omega recovered, and said, “Goodbye, and goodnight. BANG!” and proceeded to walk around the entire area greeting all the fans.

It seems Double or Nothing has its main event, and it’s a blockbuster rematch between Jericho and Omega. This main event was setup at All In, we got a preview of it on the Jericho Cruise with a six -man tag, and now we’ll see the payoff at Double or Nothing. It looks like All Elite Wrestling is here to stay, and here to make a major impact.
