WOW Top 3 Superheroes This Week: Azteca Can Be A Major Star

The latest Women of Wrestling (WOW) episode was another success, so let’s take a look at the top three superheroes of the week.

Four weeks into their brand new television deal, WOW – Women of Wrestling is showing a new take on the “women’s evolution” in sports entertainment.

Shaking off the reputation of the cartoony, caricature wrestlers of the previous WOW television run, these three Superheroes stood out as the top stars of this weeks episode.

#1 – Stephy Slays

Yet to find her first singles win in this new season, Stephy’s story is that of a bullied young girl who was rescued by Sophia Lopez, and has found professional wrestling as a way to focus her negative energy into positive gains. This week, despite losing her match to “Kentucky’s Own” Jessie Jones, Stephy did something more important; she won over the crowd.

A very intimate video package played prior to Stephy’s match where she told the story of her childhood abuse, wanting to end it all, and how between Lopez and trainer Selina Majors, she was able to find a career she loves in professional wrestling.

During the match, Stephy fought with tremendous heart, increasing the support and love from the fans, but was forced to tap out to an arm bar from Jones. Later in the evening, a distraught Stephy was in the locker room, tending to her arm, when Abilene Maverick walked up and made fun of her for the loss. A future matchup between the two women seems inevitable, and when it happens, Stephy will have the crowd’s full support.
