NXT Tag Team Championship Match: War Raiders (c) vs The Forgotten Sons

NXT’s tag team division has been turned upside down since NXT TakeOver: Phoenix. After The Undisputed Era dominated the division and much of NXT throughout 2018, we saw War Raiders go to battle and pick up a huge victory over Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong to become the new champions.

Undisputed Era may look for a rematch, but they’re likely headed for the main roster rather than another reign as tag team champions. Meanwhile, the question remains about which team is next to challenge War Raiders. Despite being one of the most beloved teams in NXT, The Street Profits probably won’t be the ones to get the nod here.

On top of Street Profits and War Raiders both being fan-favorites, the duo of Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford simply don’t have the needed momentum right now. A lot can change in NXT between now and New York, but The Forgotten Sons seem to be perfectly poised to find themselves chasing tag team gold in April.

The trio debuted in February 2018 and has faced off against some of NXT’s best teams over the last year. Throughout the year, Forgotten Sons found themselves often in the hunt for tag team gold but never able to get their shot. However, it looks like their fortunes may have finally changed.

Recently on NXT, The Forgotten Sons picked up a huge win over The Street Profits. With that momentum, The Forgotten Sons can quickly chart their path to a title shot. Perhaps their biggest hurdle will be The Undisputed Era, but a win over the former champions would all but guarantee The Forgotten Sons as the next in line for War Raiders.
