Wrestling: Priscilla Kelly And Joey Ryan Are About To Break The Internet
Priscilla Kelly and Joey Ryan are two of the most creative professional wrestlers on the planet, and they’re about to “kill the business” once and for all in a dream match that will take place on Mar. 14th in Las Vegas.
Quintessential Pro Wrestling announced a dream match that threatens to break the Internet, send Jim Cornette into his most expletive-filled rant yet, and kill the professional wrestling business once and for all.
Priscilla Kelly and Joey Ryan will face off in an intergender match on Mar. 14th in Las Vegas at the Future Stars of Wrestling Arena. And it’s safe to say that Kelly, who was a participant in the Mae Young Classic 2, qualifies as a “future star”. Ryan is already established as the star in comedy wrestling.
Both Ryan and Kelly had perfect tweets hyping up this match next month, with Ryan simply saying “RIP wrestling” and Kelly asking the fans to make it “rain tampons”.
The Quintessential Pro show in Las Vegas will feature a few other big matches, with Tom Lawlor and Josh Barnett set to square off in the main event. Darby Allin will take on Eli Everfly, who famously beat The Miz on an episode of SmackDown Live last year, and there will be a women’s Triple Threat pitting Delilah Doom, Heather Monroe, and Christina Von Eerie against each other.
But for many wrestling fans, Kelly vs. Ryan is the biggest match on the card. The likes of Cornette have criticized these two wrestlers plenty of times for their unique approach to entertaining crowds. Ryan’s “penis druids” at All In were a huge hit, and nobody can deny the suaveness of the “blow pop”.
Meanwhile, “Hell’s Favorite Harlot” put herself on everyone’s radar with a cool tampon spot, and her following on social media grew exponentially as a result of the ensuing controversy. Kelly performed the spot, rummaging in her trunks to procure a tampon that she stuffed into her opponent’s mouth, at a 21+ bar show that seemed to be well-received by the audience, appreciative of Kelly’s willingness to do something different. Yeah, it was gross in kayfabe, but it was a work.
Ryan and Allin were among those who came to Kelly’s defense, amidst all the social media backlash.
It’s important to note that while Kelly vs. Ryan is a dream match, the two have been in the ring together in intergender matches a couple of times in multi-person matches in FEST Wrestling.
But what makes this a big deal and a “dream match” is the fact that it’ll be a singles match where the two will presumably take full advantage of their creativity and the mixed feelings some – mostly older – members of the wrestling fan base have about their work. This should be awesome, and the only thing we can accurately predict is that they will break #WrestlingTwitter on Mar. 14.
