5. vs. The Bar – Tag Tournament Finals at SmackDown Live on August 7, 2018

The Bar have been squaring off with New Day for the better part of three years now. One of their better matches came just last summer during the finals of the SmackDown Live Tag Tournament.

As introduced by then-GM Paige, a tournament was made between four of the best tag teams that SmackDown Live has to offer – Sanity, The Usos, The Bar and of course, The New Day – to determine who would challenge The Bludgeon Brothers for their SmackDown Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam. After The New Day defeated Sanity and The Bar defeated The Usos to advance in the tournament, the finals would see two former rivals go toe to toe once more.

In renewing their long time feud, The New Day and The Bar had their most fluid, in stereo contest to date. After wrestling each other for three years straight, they found a way to perfect their chemistry in a way that plays up the strengths of each individual in the match. The best and most unforgettable example of this came with the ending.

In the end, while Cesaro applied a Crossface on Big E, the former NXT Champion highlighted is freakish strength by not only rising to his feet while Cesaro still had his hold locked in, but lifted the Swiss Cyborg onto his shoulders to allow Kofi Kingston to hit The Midnight Hour for the win.
