This last Monday, Roman Reigns made his long awaited return to the ring after battling leukemia for the past four months. Fans were elated to learn that his cancer is currently in remission and ‘The Big Dog’ is back full time on the road to WrestleMania.

Reign’s WWE return wasn’t the only thing that the fans were treated to though. Fans were also treated to an interesting exchange between Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

Near the show’s end, Ambrose wrestled Drew McIntyre in a No DQ match. After the match, McIntyre colluded with Baron Corbin, Elias and Bobby Lashley to put a hurting on ‘The Lunatic Fringe’. In comes Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to make the save.

While they did in fact clean house and save the self-proclaimed ‘Moral Compass of the WWE’, they did not help their former Shield comrade up to his feet. Instead, they stared the man down from atop the ramp.

Looks like there’s still blood in the water after Ambrose’s Fall 2018 stunts. It comes with good reason, but we still would really like to see The Shield reunite one last time, especially since Ambrose is on his way out the door.

I think we can all agree that Dean Ambrose’s heel turn was a flop. While the turn itself came with shock and intrigue, everything afterwards left more to be desired.

Ambrose’s heel antics bordered between offensive (i.e. saying Reigns deserves his cancer) and just outright goofy (shots and gas masks). After winning the Intercontinental Championship in a poorly received match at TLC only to lose it in quick succession a month later, the pay off just wasn’t worth the bad heel run.

That’s likely why Ambrose has turned face so anti-climatically in the past month or so.

While he is face and has had a few questionable exchanges with Seth Rollins since turning, the two have yet to be on amicable terms. It’s also worth noting that as of this writing, Roman Reigns has yet to address Ambrose’s words or share the screen with him.

If we read between the lines, it seems as though a big storyline is being set up between these three that is most likely to lead to some sort of reunion. However, we feel as though WWE would be best to save such a reunion for ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’.

WrestleMania is called “Grand” for a reason. It’s the stage where feuds culminate and storylines reach a crescendo. Everything built over the last year finally reaches an eagerly anticipated climax at WrestleMania.

2018 was a year that featured Roman Reigns struggle to take the Universal Title off of Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose’s return from injury, and The Shield reunited only to fall apart by the end of the year. Seeing all of these moments collide into a single payoff is exactly what WrestleMania moments are made for.

The Shield don’t exactly have to reunite for a single match at WrestleMania, but a single moment would be ideal. Perhaps during Seth Rollins’s Universal Title match against Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose help Rollins finally vanquish ‘The Beast’ once and for all.

Not only would it be a perfect moment that would be a year in the making, it could serve as a sendoff for Dean Ambrose right before his contract expires in April. For everything he’s given the company for nearly a decade, the dude deserves one last hurrah on his way out the door.

Again, we’re more likely to get a Shield reunion for Payback, but if WWE really wanted a WrestleMania moment, WWE would give us one shared among their greatest faction.
