WWE SmackDown Grades: Samoa Joe Takes A Big Step In The Right Direction
1. Becky Lynch And Charlotte Flair Segment
The ever-changing and chaotic Raw Women’s Championship picture has taken so many twists and turns over the past few weeks. But perhaps the biggest night of twists came on Monday night when Ronda Rousey turned heel and attacked the recently-reinstated and already injured Becky Lynch.
The Man is far from 100 percent in kayfabe terms heading into a superbly-important match at Fastlane with Charlotte Flair. Lynch must win this match to earn her way into the Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 35, but last night was all about a so-called friendly face-to-face encounter with The Queen, who called out Lynch after a wild night on Raw just 24 hours earlier.
Charlotte sarcastically called Lynch down to the ring and after walking down on crutches, The Man was face-to-face with The Queen. Lynch was as defiant as ever, saying she is firmly in the head of Charlotte and that she has owned Charlotte over the past few months. She also said even though she is beaten up and far from 100 percent physically, she is still standing and she did manage to eliminate Charlotte to win the women’s Royal Rumble on one leg.
Lynch also said damaged people are the most dangerous and the ones that have nothing left to lose. Charlotte then began attacking Lynch, but when she tried to put Lynch in the figure four, The Man hit her with one of her crutches and locked in the dis-arm-her. This was a big moment for Lynch who had recently been on the downside of several different attacks. It could be what helps propel her into a big win at Fastlane.
The time is near for The Man to leave her mark and last night’s segment was a very good way to start reaching that point.
