2. The Unexpected Inclusion Of Kevin Owens In The WWE Championship Match

‘The New’ Daniel Bryan has had quite the unpredictable WWE Championship reign over the past few months.  In what started out as a feud with AJ Styles has developed into a championship picture involving two unlikely adversaries that came out of nowhere.

Nobody saw the recent rise of Kofi Kingston coming, but the elder statesman of The New Day has firmly clawed his way into the WWE Championship picture.

It appeared as if his opportunity to win the title would come at WWE Fastlane, but Mr. McMahon had other ideas and decided to replace Kingston with the returning Kevin Owens, who had been out of action for a few months due to injury.

Owens, now operating as a babyface for the time being, was set to return sometime soon.  However, not many expected him to be back at Fastlane, especially competing for the WWE Championship.

This has drastically changed the course of this pay-per-view and possibly the course of WrestleMania 35 as well.  Kofi’s opportunity probably isn’t lost, it’s just been put on temporary standby.

Everyone wanted to see Kingston challenge Bryan for the WWE Championship, but now with KO in the match at Fastlane with Bryan, Kofi’s opportunity could likely come at the granddaddy of them all, WrestleMania 35.  And in turn, Owens could still be involved in that potential WrestleMania match as well depending on how Fastlane goes this Sunday night.

Things are heating up where the WWE Championship picture is concerned and the late arrival of KO in the proceedings could lead to major WrestleMania implications.
