WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection (c) vs. Nia Jax & Tamina

The second women’s match of WWE Fastlane saw The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Nia Jax and Tamina. Nia Jax tried to emphasize going in that Sasha Banks had a tendency to lose titles in her first defense, but it was all about the power of Nia Jax and Tamina as things got underway.

Meanwhile, Sasha Banks and Bayley constantly stayed in the fight with their tag team chemistry and agility. Both teams gave it their all, and this was also a really spectacular match on a night already featuring great tag team matches. This dive by Bayley exhibited just how much everyone was willing to do in order to leave with gold.

Despite some close calls that looked ready to give us a title change, it was ultimately The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection that came through and picked up the win. Nia Jax looked to finish off Bayley with a devastatign powerbomb, but Bayley rolled out of it and countered into a pinfall. With just the right amount of leverage, Bayley grabbed a leg and secured the pin to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles for The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection at WWE Fastlane.

It was a big win for Sasha Banks and Bayley, but their celebration didn’t last long before Tamina and Nia Jax began a post-match assault. Things quickly spilled to the outside where Sasha Banks was sent barreling over the announce table. Beth Phoenix, who had been a special guest commentator for the match, stood up at ringside and approached Nia Jax to stop the attack.

After an exchange of words between Tamina and Phoenix, Beth swung with a hard punch on Tamina only to be quickly knocked to the ground by Nia Jax. They rolled Beth Phoenix into the ring and continued their attack on the WWE Hall of Famer. Natalya finally came rushing down the ramp to save Beth Phoenix, but only received the tail end of Nia and Tamina’s attack.

As Jax and Tamina left the arena, there was a clear trail of bodies in their wake that leaves the Women’s Tag Division extremely complicated coming out of WWE Fastlane.
