Impact, Honor, and Elsewhere

Still, there are other options available to Strickland and others. Ring of Honor has made a play for several big names as of late, including Bandido and Rush. A move to ROH for Strickland would be analogous to Rush as both had been fixtures in MLW.

While Impact seems to be struggling in their new home on Pursuit, they continue to boast a roster of indie stars who have the ability to pump out some incredible matches. Strickland could find himself in familiar company with Brian Cage, Sami Callihan, and Johnny Impact on the roster.

In keeping with the tweet from Strickland’s Twitter account, could a run in New Japan Pro Wrestling be on Swerve’s horizon? It may be the most unlikely scenario of all, though with the Best of the Super Juniors typically happening in the summer months we could always see Strickland as one of the foreign participants in the tournament.

Despite the potential for the move to a mid-size or major company, the independent scene has never been hotter than it is right now. Just as easily as we can picture Strickland in an exclusive deal with WWE, AEW, ROH or others it’s just as easy to picture him continuing to do what he does in independent promotions around the world.

Where should Swerve hang his hat in 2019, and what will become of him wherever he winds up? There’s only one person who knows those answers for sure and we’re all waiting to hear the answers spill from his lips. The only guarantee that can be made is that wherever Swerve goes, confidence follows.
