WWE Raw Grades: Batista And Triple H Going No Holds Barred At WrestleMania
1. Drew McIntyre vs. Dean Ambrose
The Shield’s brief reunion at Fastlane was a successful night for The Hounds Of Justice that resulted in a big win for their farewell match together. However, one superstar on the losing end of that match took it to heart and was out for revenge last night in a big way.
Drew McIntyre has been establishing himself as a top heel on Monday nights over the past few months. That made his loss alongside Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley at Fastlane that much tougher to take, but he wouldn’t take it lying down and he was out for blood, so to speak, last night. It was set to be Corbin vs. Roman Reigns last night, but just when The Big Dog was set to compete, McIntyre jumped him from behind.
He viciously attacked Reigns to the point where he had to go get checked out by the doctors. This took Reigns out of the equation, but Dean Ambrose was incensed and he asked for a Falls Count Anywhere match with McIntyre. The match was made and these two brawled throughout the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. It went through the crowd to the concession stand area before eventually making its way back to the stage area.
The tide turned when McIntyre poked Ambrose in the eye with a pencil on the announce table. From that point on, The Scottish Psychopath took over and he decimated The Lunatic Fringe in the final moments of the match before ending it with a claymore kick with Ambrose stuck in a railing. That would prove to be enough for McIntyre to get the win in convincing fashion. This was an enjoyable match that made McIntyre look like an even greater heel.
The Scottish Psychopath is out to destroy and last night was a step in the right, or wrong, direction after a very good match with The Lunatic Fringe.
Final Grade: A-
