8. “But here I am”

Months before the road to WrestleMania began, we rewind to November, just six days before Nia Jax’s face-breaking punch derailed the Survivor Series main event.

The Man had a microphone, and when The Man has a microphone, the world listens. A showdown with Ronda Rousey awaited, and on the Nov. 6 edition of SmackDown Live, Lynch delivered arguably her greatest ever promo.

Across the Irish sea in Manchester, England, Lynch fired back at Rousey’s comments the night before mocking Becky’s past. “While you were in clown school, I was training for the Olympics,” Rousey said.

Rousey delivered a fine promo, but Lynch had the perfect response:

“No, Ronda, no, I was not handpicked like you, but here I am,” Becky said. “I wasn’t meant to be the main event, but here I am. I wasn’t meant to be the talk of the entire industry, but here… I… am.”

Becky Lynch is the master of the microphone, and this promo set the table for a must-see main event at Survivor Series. Lynch can sell a fight on promos alone, but she backed it up with her actions the following Monday night (more on that in a moment).

Few WWE Superstars can match Becky Lynch on the mic, and here she proved why she’s the best in the business.
