6. The WrestleMania main event is set

Just one night removed from Becky Lynch’s incredible Royal Rumble victory, she made a surprise appearance to Raw to make her WrestleMania intentions clear.

Moments before, Ronda Rousey issued an open challenge and defeated Bayley to retain her championship. After the two shook hands following their encounter, The Man paid a little visit to the red brand, announcing her decision to face Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Every so often, wrestling provides a goose-bump moment. For me, this was one of those.

“And unlike Seth Rollins, I don’t need much time to think,” Becky said, looking directly at Rousey. “I choose you.”

As usual, Becky’s entire promo was right on the money. She spoke about wanting to prove that Rousey isn’t the baddest woman on the planet, and when Ronda responded, The Man stood back, listening with a smirk.

The back-and-forth between Lynch and Rousey set the table for their headline battle on the grandest stage of them all. The road has taken various twists and turns since: injuries, suspensions, the addition of Charlotte Flair to the match, Ronda’s heel turn.

A few weeks remain before this story reaches its conclusion, but this moment on Raw kicked it off beautifully.
