5. NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable vs. Sasha Banks

For every star comes a breakout moment. Becky Lynch’s time came at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable. No longer Sasha Banks’ sidekick, Lynch stepped up to the plate, and the two delivered a TakeOver classic, one deservedly nominated for Match of the Year at the NXT 2015 year-end awards.

Forget Team B.A.E, Becky was now on a mission to prove why she was the one best at everything. Lynch had first showcased her talent on the microphone during the contract signing on NXT TV, cutting an inspiring promo as the underdog aiming “to take over” and upset the NXT Women’s Champion.

And in a battle between two of WWE’s up-and-coming stars at Full Sail, the pair tore the house down with perfect storytelling. Sasha worked on Becky’s arm throughout the match, but the challenger wouldn’t give up, rallying to come within a rope break of capturing the gold.

Debuting a new steampunk look with her now trademark orange hair, Becky proved why she belonged in the conversation of top NXT stars with a blockbuster performance against The Boss. The gritty underdog from Limerick eventually had no choice but to submit to the Bank Statement, but it was The Irish Lass Kicker who made the real statement of the night.

The Full Sail crowd stood to its feet in appreciation as the crestfallen challenger exited the ring. A new star was born.
