Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. The IIconics

Next up we were greeted by The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection, who were scheduled for non-title action against The IIconics. After weeks of calling out the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce finally got a chance to prove themselves against the champs.

Despite confidence from The IIconics, it was Banks and Bayley who took advantage early on and kept control of the match. Sasha Banks even had a moment of mocking their “IIconic” pose. As the champions were rolling, we got a sudden interruption by Lacey Evans. Her music hit, she walked out, she walked back.

The distraction was useless for her, but gave The IIconics a chance to gain some momentum. They kept control, fighting hard through a couple of big moments by Banks and Bayley.

Once they managed to isolate Bayley on the outside and Banks alone in the ring, The IIconics used some good old-fashioned illegal teamwork to pick up a huge victory. An assisted pinfall helped them defeat the champions, putting them right in line for a future title opportunity.

Grade: A, I’m gonna pretend the Lacey Evans moment didn’t happen so I don’t have to dock points from this. The match was fantastic, and The IIconics had a classic heel win that sets up a future title shot.

Rey Mysterio’s WrestleMania match is revealed

Backstage, we saw a brief segment with Rey Mysterio in which we found out he’ll get a shot at United States Champion Samoa Joe at WrestleMania 35. Not only that, but he had his son Dominic there with him. Some fans may remember Dominic being involved in a bitter rivalry between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero years ago where Eddie claimed to be Dominic’s real father. Things will come full circle at WrestleMania, where Dominic will be at ringside cheering on his father Rey Mysterio as he tries to claim the United States Championship.

Grade: A, This was a really cool moment. Seeing Dominic there feels special, and makes the match against Samoa Joe at WrestleMania even more intriguing.
