Finn Balor’s Road to WrestleMania

Up next on WWE Raw we saw Finn Balor out with a clear, but difficult, path to WrestleMania. In order to earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship only 13 days from now, he would have to defeat both Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush in a Handicap Match. At least, that was the plan until Rush revealed he wasn’t medically cleared to compete.

Instead, Rush was replaced by Jinder Mahal. Things looked almost insurmountable for Balor, who was feeling the power of his opponents early on. The Singh Brothers and Rush were also at ringside, putting an extra wrinkle into things. Back from commercial, Balor looked to change things up and regain control.

Once he got Jinder Mahal isolated in the ring, things looked at hand. With Lashley knocked down on the outside, Balor hit a perfect Coup de Grace to pick up the pinfall and punch his ticket to WrestleMania. Lashley slid into the ring in an absolute fury as Balor smiled and rolled out of harm’s way.

Grade: B, Yet another handicap match for Balor here, and another moment where former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal looks literally useless. I mean the match was decent, and I am happy Balor is getting at match at WrestleMania, but this still felt meh.
