The Miz demands a Falls Count Anywhere Match

Next up on SmackDown Live, we heard from The Miz regarding his impending clash with Shane McMahon. He talked again about his frustrations with what Shane did to Mr. Miz, before demanding his match with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 35 be made a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

It didn’t take long for Shane McMahon to walk out to respond, but he didn’t do so alone. A group of security went onto the ramp, and then we saw Shelton Benjamin, Primo Colon, and SAnitY also on the ramp as extra security. Once all of them were out, Shane McMahon finally walked out and began to respond to The Miz.

He first explained the security was there to protect Miz from Shane, and not the other way around. Shane McMahon then began gloating about what he’d done to The Miz’s father at Fastlane, and even stated The Miz was “as dumb as [his] father looks.”

Shane McMahon then stated he so enjoyed attacking The Miz at Fastlane that he wants to beat The Miz “all over MetLife Stadium.” Shane accepted the stipulation, before finally going over the line by saying the biggest “Miztake” that The Miz’s father every made was “impregnating [Miz’s] mother.”

This sent The Miz over the edge, and he slid out of the ring and tried to rush the ramp. Security tried to stop him, but The Miz tore through them one at a time. After the security was knocked out of the picture, Primo Colon rushed forward only to be sent into the steel steps. Shelton Benjamin tried to attack him, only to be launched into the turnbuckle post.

The last line of defense was SAnitY. Eric Young, Killian Daine, and Alexander Wolfe rushed The Miz and started beating him down as the crowd booed heavily. The Miz was clearly outnumbered, but with emotion driving him, he still fought out of the situation and ended up fighting SAnitY into the crowd. After flying off the barricade to take them all down, The Miz headed to the back likely still looking for revenge, but Shane McMahon had long since retreated.

Grade: A+, A great segment between both The Miz and Shane McMahon here. Their match being Falls Count Anywhere adds a lot, and it was clear how much emotion was running through Miz.

We then got a brief segment with The IIconics backstage, who were very excited about the news that they’ll be part of the Fatal 4-Way at WrestleMania for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. It was good that this was acknowledged, and pretty much everything The IIconics do is…well…IIconic.

Grade: A, Simple, but effective. They’ve earned this moment, and their excitement was very real.
