The March 26 edition of WWE SmackDown was one of the wildest shows in a while in the WWE that featured major WrestleMania implications from start to finish.

Last night’s WWE SmackDown saw more key focus put on KofiMania, a shocking and controversial title change, and more WrestleMania-related buildup that helped kick several angles into another gear.

With only one episode of the blue brand left until the show of shows, the brand has done a great job of building its angles for WrestleMania.  With that being said, let’s take a look at a few grades from the March 26 edition of WWE SmackDown.

4. Opening Segment

It was five years ago that Daniel Bryan was the center of attention heading into WrestleMania with one of the greatest underdog stories in WWE history.  It feels a bit like deja vu five years later heading into WrestleMania 35 with a superstar that nobody saw coming.

The rise of The New Day’s Kofi Kingston over the past couple of months has been a sight to behold and has developed into arguably the hottest angle heading into WrestleMania 35.  Mr. McMahon has been against Kofi for weeks, trying his hardest to keep him out of the WWE Championship match against The New Daniel Bryan.  He even screwed Kofi over after he went through an hour-long gauntlet match last week.

However, Kofi and the rest of The New Day opened up the show last night and wanted answers.  They started in a serious tone that even teased they would walk away from the WWE because of how poorly Kofi has been treated.  They wanted Mr. McMahon to come out and explain himself, but just as he got to the ring to talk it out, Bryan and Rowan came out.  Bryan took shots at Kofi the entire time, calling him a B-plus player and saying The New Day is easily replaceable.

Mr. McMahon said none of them will quit and they never were going to.  He also said he still believes Kofi is just a B-plus player and not championship material, but he wanted to know if Xavier Woods and Big E are a B-plus tag team.  The two were put in a gauntlet tag team match later in the night and if they won the whole thing, Kofi would finally be added to the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35.

This was a great opening segment from everyone involved and it added more fuel to the fire that is KofiMania.
