2. KofiMania

Kofi Kingston has been a mainstay in the WWE over the past 11 years, winning practically every championship the WWE has to offer.  However, one major championship has eluded a superstar that has struggled to be viewed in a main event light over all of those years.

He’s been Intercontinental Champion multiple times over, United States Champion multiple times over, and a tag team champion multiple times over.  But Kofi has never been WWE Champion and in the early stages of 2019, he has quickly emerged as the most popular male superstar on the WWE roster heading into WrestleMania 35, where he will get the biggest opportunity of his career.

The run Kofi has been on over the past couple of months has been unlike anything the WWE has seen in years, and thus, KofiMania was born.  That run ultimately led him to a WWE Championship opportunity at WrestleMania 35 against The New Daniel Bryan after having to climb several hurdles along the way.  Fellow New Day members Xavier Woods and Big E clinched Kofi’s spot at WrestleMania last Tuesday night when they won a tag team gauntlet match.

Kingston has been labeled as a B-plus player in recent weeks by Mr. McMahon and The New Daniel Bryan, which is ironic and a bit of deja vu considering Bryan was in a similar situation heading into WrestleMania 30.  KofiMania has taken the WWE by storm over the past several weeks to the point where one can make the argument it is the hottest thing heading into this year’s WrestleMania.

This is an opportunity 11 years in the making for one of the WWE’s best workhorses and in just days, KofiMania will be running wild.
