Rey Mysterio is scheduled to face Samoa Joe in a United States Championship match at WWE WrestleMania 35, but a recent ankle injury could change plans.

On the episode of Monday Night Raw before WWE WrestleMania 35, Rey Mysterio faced Baron Corbin in the main event of the show and lost. Not only did he lose to “The Lone Wolf”, who will indeed face Kurt Angle in the legend’s retirement match at ‘Mania, but he lost to Corbin’s signature move, the Deep Six.

Worse yet, Mysterio suffered a legitimate ankle injury during the match, which he posted about on Instagram, and the injury was also written up by WWE.com.

Per WWE, the United States Championship match at WrestleMania between Mysterio and Samoa Joe is still on, but WWE will have to evaluate his status again before Sunday. Mysterio’s ankle injury already caused his match against Andrade on SmackDown Live to be cancelled, so fans will be on the lookout for more updates regarding one of their favorite superstars.

We can only hope that Mysterio is healthy and ready to compete, with his son Dominic at ringside, but here are four possible replacements for the future Hall of Famer if the ankle injury prevents him from competing on Sunday.
