4. Baron Corbin won’t be Kurt Angle’s final opponent

Anytime the WWE acknowledges the fans’ pushback on something, I get a little suspicious. From the moment Kurt Angle announced his farewell-match opponent as Baron Corbin, the announcers have continued to point out the frustration among the WWE Universe.

Maybe it’s just reacting to the fans and giving Corbin more heat. But the other possibility is we get a WrestleMania swerve. John Cena doesn’t seem to have any WrestleMania plans, and last year’s show proved how quickly that can change.

A Cena-Angle showdown would be a fitting way for Angle to bow out of in-ring action. Winning or losing almost wouldn’t matter; it’d just be a great moment to see these two old rivals and real-life friends lock up one final time.

Maybe Cena gets his win back after losing his famous debut match to Angle in 2002. Or maybe Angle retires with one more victory over the 16-time world champion. Either way, watching two of the all-time greats hug it out at the end of the match would be a perfect end to Angle’s Hall-of-Fame career.

Always expect the unexpected in the WWE, especially at WrestleMania. My prediction is that Baron Corbin won’t face Kurt Angle this Sunday, but don’t worry about his opponent. I’m sure they’ll have a suitable replacement.

We just “can’t see him” yet.
