WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal

I’d love to see WWE give the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal some high stakes, because both of these battle royals should have more attention on them. Last year at Evolution, the winner of the battle royal received an opportunity at a women’s championship, which Nia Jax used to face Ronda Rousey at TLC.

There are so many women who could conceivably win this match. Lacey Evans has plenty of heat and seems poised for a mega-push, Naomi won the first WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal, Sonya Deville is a future star, Mandy Rose can’t be counted out, and Nikki Cross could use a big win early in her main roster run.

That said, I can’t help but think that Asuka will grab the big win on Sunday evening, especially after she was blindsided by Charlotte Flair two weeks ago in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match. Asuka should have been defending the title at WrestleMania, but, instead, she won’t get on the show’s main card.

She did, however, stand tall at the end of a SmackDown Live segment involving 18 men and women, tossing out the legendary Jeff Hardy out at the end. It was a huge moment for Asuka, and while it indicates she won’t win on Sunday, I wouldn’t be surprised if The Empress of Tomorrow became the first person to win a WrestleMania Battle Royal and a Royal Rumble.

Prediction: Asuka
