8. Kurt Angle vs Drew McIntyre

Kurt Angle’s Final Bout

Before we get too far into it, let me just say that I have no issue with the currently planned match of Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin story wise, except for the fact that the story being told was forgotten for several months late last year and is only now being picked back up. I just think they can add a little bit extra to it by bringing in Drew McIntyre instead.

The Scottish Psychopath has had a strong rise on the Raw brand. It’s been a great year and he’s taken a number of scalps; including that of Kurt Angle himself. WrestleMania could very easily be phrased as Angle’s redemption. Before announcing his intended retirement, Angle begins his tour; longer this time. He wrestles more matches and picks up more wins lower on the card. After his run reaches double figures, he then announces that he will be retiring and challenges McIntyre to a rematch.

Of course, McIntyre accepts. Any chance to further humble a legend is a chance that McIntyre can not resist. I can literally hear him saying that in my head as we speak.

This match would continue the ascension of Drew McIntyre to the top table. It would also be a strong send off for Kurt Angle and would fit his character of asking for a rematch but, unfortunately, simply being unable to deliver.
