Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Revival (c) vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins

The second hour of the WrestleMania Kickoff Show, which was apparently also airing on the USA Network, saw the Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival defend their titles against hometown heroes Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. The crowd was firmly behind the team formerly known as The Major Brothers, and the importance of Hawkins looking to end his lengthy losing streak was clear.

Hawkins started the match against Scott Dawson, trying to gain some momentum but ultimately struggling to do so. He tagged in Zack Ryder, who tried to change the pace and looked ready to do so. He got some good hits on The Revival, only to find himself barreling out of the ring, which put control firmly back in the hands of the champions.

From there, The Revival kept Zack Ryder isolated. They continued to wear him down, and kept him cut off from tagging in partner Curt Hawkins at every turn. Ryder looked close to a tag, only for The Revival to team up on him, but Ryder countered it into a double neckbreaker.

He tried to make the tag, but Hawkins was sent flying off the apron with an attack from The Revival. Zack Ryder continued to fight back despite The Revival cutting him off from Hawkins at every turn. Things finally turned when Ryder back body dropped Dawson to finally make it to Hawkins and make the tag.

Curt Hawkins entered the fray with a flurry of dropkicks to both members of The Revival, really changing the complexion of the match and getting Hawkins and Ryder some great momentum. Hawkins looked for several near falls, coming up short each time. The action spilled to the outside, and a brawl saw all four men laid out.

After a close count out, both Hawkins and Dawson made their way back into the to keep the action going. Hawkins kept fighting as Dawson looked to finish things off, but Curt Hawkins suddenly caught Dawson in a small package for a three count and the win to end his 269-match losing streak and become a champion!

Grade: A+, This was a great tag team match, and probably got more time to develop a story than the other tag matches tonight will get. Curt Hawkins broke his losing streak in epic fashion, and this was a true WrestleMania moment.
