WrestleMania 31: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns (vs. Seth Rollins) (Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

Roman Reigns is a highly underrated worker. For proof, look no further than his performance throughout the first three quarters of this match.

Reigns was booed out of the arena when he won the Royal Rumble in 2015, and the hostility toward him continued as he made his way to the ring for his Championship match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.

Lesnar absolutely dominated this match, which saw him coin his now infamous “suplex city” catchphrase. Reigns was tossed around the ring like a rag doll, but continued to get up again, putting on a master class in selling his injuries.

Throughout the match, something remarkable began to happen. The boos toward Roman Reigns began to dissipate, as the audience slowly began to get on his side. Yet, in spite of what felt like an inevitable win for Reigns, WWE had another trick up their sleeve.

Seth Rollins, who had lost a match against Randy Orton earlier in the night, made his way to the ring with his Money in the Bank briefcase. He then proceeded to become the first person in Money in the Bank history to cash in the briefcase at WrestleMania, inserting himself into the match to make it a triple threat.

The match’s finish was thrilling. Lesnar lifted Rollins onto his shoulder for the F5, but Reigns saved his former Shield comrade by spearing Lesnar. After Rollins fell to the ground, he opportunistically landed a Curb Stomp on Reigns, stealing Reigns’ WrestleMania Moment, and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This was an excellent main event, and serves to highlight that Roman Reigns is far from the boring worker that certain segments of the fandom make him out to be.
