Lars Sullivan beats down a legend
Baron Corbin is out here asking Mike Rome to list off his accomplishments before he enters the ring, and, let’s be honest, Shane McMahon’s heel schtick with the announcer is a lot better.
Anyway, Corbin is here to drink in the boos and gloat about defeating Kurt Angle in his retirement match at WrestleMania 35. He gets massive “asshole” chants and thanks the crowd for what he sees as a compliment. Because he knows where the money’s at as a heel.
New York gives him an “STFU” chant, too, and Corbin runs with it perfectly, telling the crowd that he proved he’s better than an Olympic gold medalist. Corbin believes he deserves a gold medal for that victory, but, just then, Angle’s music hits!
Angle gets “Thank you!” chants from the crowd, and he reminds everyone that his career is officially over after last night’s loss to Corbin. The Olympic gold medalist wishes Corbin good luck, and shakes his hand with his left hand…and attacks Corbin with an Angle Slam and Ankle Lock!
Just as he’s celebrating, the scream hits…Lars Sullivan has made his main roster debut!
Huge props to Angle for selling Sullivan’s debut perfectly. The fear in his eyes was gold, and he couldn’t help but stare at the leviathan with wide eyes before being slammed to the canvas brutally.
Ignoring the “asshole” chants, Sullivan hits his signature Diving Headbutt on Angle, staring him down and screaming like the savage that he is.
Grade: B, Corbin has massive heat, Angle has massive love, and Lars Sullivan IS massive. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the former NXT superstar.
