WWE: 5 Universal Championship opponents for Seth Rollins after WrestleMania 35
Randy Orton
At WrestleMania 31, before he stole the WWE Championship from Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the show’s memorable main event, Seth Rollins had a strong match with Randy Orton that featured one of the greatest reversals of all-time; the Stomp into the RKO.
With “The Stomp” back and more effective than ever, a play off of this spot could be teased between Rollins and Randy Orton, who seems like a strong candidate to move to Monday Night Raw. Wrestling fans speculated that Orton could move to Raw at last year’s Superstar Shakeup, but he remained on SmackDown where he feuded with the likes of Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and AJ Styles.
After losing to Styles at WrestleMania 35 and getting bumped down the totem pole on SmackDown Live, a move to Raw would make even more sense for Orton. He’s yet to compete for the Universal Title, and he hasn’t won a world championship since WrestleMania 33.
A Rollins vs. Orton match could be a candidate to main event any Pay Per View, given the recognition that both superstars have. Plus, Orton is truly brilliant when he’s motivated, and Rollins rises to the occasion against veterans like Orton. This is a possible Universal Title match to watch, because it has a real shot at taking place if a Superstar Shakeup switch takes place.
