2, Remind us why Braun’s a beast

We’d be lying if we didn’t admit that Braun Strowman’s luster hadn’t fizzled out a bit by time 2018 wrapped up, Hell, all the way to the end of WWE’s calendar year going into WrestleMania 35, the big guy just hasn’t looked as strong as he has looked in yesteryear.

This is the same guy who regularly dropped Brock Lesnar to his knees on back to back Raws. The same guy who no sold a German Suplex from Brock and struck fear into The Beast’s eyes. The same guy who was once called a beast in the same vain as Brock was and looked like a legit threat to Brock’s Universal Title.

That all changed in 2018. Braun lost multiple title shots against Brock – once in less than five minutes – and lost enough matches to be completely phased out of the main event picture. Literally. It got to the point where his last title match with Brock going into Royal Rumble was cancelled two weeks before the show. Seemingly, judging from rumors and innuendo, the reason was because even Vince McMahon knew that Braun couldn’t afford another big pay-per-view loss.

Braun’s last calendar year was all bad, but the next 2019-20 season of WWE has potential to make up for all of it. Pitting him against Samoa Joe – who reigned over SmackDown Live as an absolute beast in his own right during the entire 2018-19 WWE season – would be the perfect way to re-introduce The Monster Among Men as, well, a monster again.
