Ember Moon

A pleasant surprise at the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal, Ember Moon was a sight for sore eyes, as she was sorely missed after not competing in the ring since the Women’s Royal Rumble in January. Moon will likely make her official return to the main roster during the Superstar Shakeup, and she’ll probably receive a huge pop when her wonderful theme hits.

Moon has been referred to as a “future women’s champion” by Michael Cole several times, and she was once undefeated on the main roster before suffering a fluke loss to Sarah Logan over the summer. Her “Eclipse” finisher is the best finisher in WWE, especially when she hits it on veteran sellers Mickie James and the always under-appreciated Alicia Fox.

Though Moon is a babyface and might not seem to be the best fit for the Money in the Bank briefcase, which is usually utilized best in the hands of a conniving heel like Edge or Alexa Bliss, that might be an overstated trope. As we saw last year, Braun Strowman won the Money in the Bank briefcase, and while he was unsuccessful in winning the championship after proudly making his intentions known beforehand, Moon could follow that blueprint but be successful in her quest.

That would put Moon over big-time, and WWE would do well to capitalize on the strength of her babyface character. Moon has huge potential on either Raw or SmackDown as a top babyface, because she generates real sympathy from the crowd with her selling, tenacity, and shows of strength and agility. It’d be wise to put a title around her waist sooner rather than later.
