The Bar vs. SAnitY vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin vs. Bobby Roode & Lashley (Kickoff Show)

Hey, look, it’s the Andre the Giant Memorial We Need to Get More People on the Card match!

Honestly, as I was kicking around ideas for the card, I got to like 10 matches and realized I was missing A TON of big names. Granted, some of those names may not end up on the show at all, but I really tried to get as money on there as I could.

Oh, and just as an FYI to all the armchair bookers out there: it is REALLY tough getting everyone you want onto a single card.

Anyway, I don’t see Sheamus and Cesaro challenging for a title this summer, but I couldn’t leave them off the show entirely. SAnitY just has to get used somehow at some point, right? So they earned a spot in this match, too.

But the other two teams? I think Gable and Roode will be the team that gets split up in the Superstar Shake-up, but both will stay in the tag team divisions. Gable should find his way back to Benjamin to get him back on TV semi-regularly, as they had a darn good team for a brief while.

Roode, though, hasn’t really done anything with anyone to easily determine a new partner for him. Lashley may be on his way to a brief hiatus to compete in Bellator, so something low-pressure for his character may be on tap. It would also let Roode lean into his heel side, which is honestly where he should be.
