She can finally run a division

Sasha Banks has sometimes been a victim of timing. In her first run on Raw, she had an amazing back-and-forth rivalry with Charlotte Flair, who got the defining win over Banks before feuding with Bayley for the Raw Women’s Championship. Afterwards, Alexa Bliss became the top star in the division, with Banks only getting one big Raw Women’s Championship win over Bliss. And then, of course, Ronda Rousey joined the mix for the 2018-2019 “season” on Raw, ruling over the division after ripping the title away from Bliss at SummerSlam 2018.

Throughout it all, Banks was an important part of Raw, but she was never THE focal point. Vince McMahon preferred to give the reigns to Charlotte, Ronda, and Alexa, and while those three superstars are plenty talented in their own right, many fans were disappointed that Banks was never afforded those same opportunities.

Contrast that to Becky Lynch, who needed to scratch and claw her way past Alexa and Charlotte on the Blue Brand, eventually becoming THE biggest thing in wrestling once WWE finally capitalized on her brilliance.

A move to SmackDown Live could be that chance for Sasha Banks. It could be the lifeline that allows Banks to go from “Good Hand” to “Top Star”. The Legit Boss has every quality needed to run a division as its top star, and while she’d have plenty of competition on SmackDown from the likes of Asuka and Naomi (assuming they aren’t traded), she’s shown that she’s willing to put over others and share the spotlight.

With SmackDown headed to FOX, this could be a big platform for the mainstream star WWE has yet to fully invest in.
