WWE Superstar Shake-Up: Grading Every Superstar’s Outcome From 2018
Natalya from SmackDown Live to Raw
Natalya is a nearly two-decade veteran of the squared circle, and her two years on SmackDown Live saw her be a huge building block of that brand’s women’s division. Natalya even captured the SmackDown Women’s Title, holding it for over two months before losing the belt to Charlotte Flair. When she was drafted to WWE Raw last year, Natalya took on a different role by becoming a mentor and ally for Ronda Rousey.
Despite some mixed booking, Natalya remained a solid staple of the division throughout the year. Things really picked up recently after the return of WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix led to a “Divas of Doom” reunion at WrestleMania 35. Even without leaving that night as champions, it was a huge moment for both Natalya and Phoenix.
Grade: B+, This could have been a better year, but Natalya surely has nothing to be ashamed of. The veteran complemented Rousey greatly, and gave us a great “Divas of Doom” reunion that makes her return to Raw completely worth it.
Mojo Rawley from SmackDown Live to Raw
Look, let’s be clear here. Mojo Rawley has yet to, at any point in his career, make himself a viable singles threat as even a mid-carder, much less a main eventer. His most successful period came while teaming with Zack Ryder as The Hype Bros. Once he split with Ryder, Rawley has struggled to stand out on the roster.
Things could have improved when he was drafted to WWE Raw, but they didn’t. Mojo Rawley still barely found his way to television, usually having a losing effort if he did. He’s most recently gave us a series of weird segments talking to a mirror backstage, and they haven’t exactly changed his stock.
Grade: F, This isn’t complicated. Mojo Rawley was pretty much irrelevant before he was moved to Raw. He was definitely irrelevant in the year since he was moved to Raw.
