2. Kofi Kingston

It might be the most obvious choice, but Roman Reigns is a natural opponent for current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. Some fans would be worried about Roman ending Kingston’s historic title reign too quickly, but Reigns doesn’t have to walk out victorious for this to be something special. The New Day and The Shield only clashed a select few times in recent years, and we haven’t seen a lengthy one-on-one rivalry between Kingston and Reigns.

Reigns has long since proven his capabilities as a champion, and wouldn’t be harmed at all with a loss to Kingston. On the contrary, Reigns could help raise up Kofi’s reign by giving him a victory over a huge main event star and former champion in his own right. Whether this is done soon or saved for a big event like SummerSlam, there’s no denying how great of a rivalry these two could show us.

3. Kevin Owens

On a different note, Roman Reigns could tangle with an old foe in the form of Kevin Owens. Back when the Universal Championship was first introduced, Reigns found himself chasing then-champion Kevin Owens for several months. However, that was a much different Kevin Owens that adored underhanded tactics and kept his best friend Chris Jericho at his side.

Since returning to WWE before Fastlane, Kevin Owens has become a beloved babyface and changed things up by using the Stunner to end things instead of his familiar Pop-Up Powerbomb. We could see a completely different kind of rivalry between these two, potentially with both men trying to earn the right to take on Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship in the future.
