Even though the unveiling of the new wild card rule on WWE TV left a lot to be desired, that doesn’t mean the rule itself lacks real potential benefits.

There’s a lot that could be said about WWE and their handling of the new wild card rule.

For starters, it’s unnecessarily confusing. The rules for wild card superstars are almost non-existent at this point.

Will there be any members of the women’s division added as wild card superstars? Do the wild card superstars ever change and if so, how frequently? Questions like that provide just a small taste of some of the basic guidelines WWE has left unexplained in their roll-out of the wild card rule.

What we do know for certain, however, is that this whole rule makes the entire Superstar Shake-Up feel a bit silly. Considering the fact that most of the big name brand switchers are now seemingly included in the wild card rule, it really makes you wonder why you sat through 2 weeks of semi-coherent brand switching drama.

Despite bad feelings like that though, it shouldn’t be forgotten that there are some real positives which could come from this new rule.

In fact, we’ve already seen some of those positives play out on WWE TV. Believe it or not, the entire unveiling of this new wild card rule wasn’t a complete disaster after all.
