AEW’s first pay per view, Double or Nothing, airs this Saturday and includes some former WWE superstars that could be the first of many to jump ship.

Ever since WWE bought WCW in 2001, Vince McMahon and company have had no real competition to make the product better. Impact Wrestling was never really viewed as a true competitor and the indy scene was something that was reserved for hardcore fans.

But now, the indy scene is essentially creating its own massive wrestling company in All Elite Wrestling. Spearheaded by The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes and Jacksonville Jaguars owners Shahid and Tony Kahn, there finally appears to be an organization that can rival WWE.

AEW certainly has the funding as the Khan’s are even richer than McMahon and has already signed some notable names, names that WWE pursued before the inception of AEW.

Some of the wrestlers set to debut in AEW on Double or Nothing this Saturday are former WWE Superstars. Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn and Shawn Spears (fka Tye Dillinger) headline the former WWE group, which could include a surprise appearance by Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose).

Some WWE superstars have already requested their release and if AEW is certainly as big as expected, there likely will be several superstars that jump ship once their contract with WWE is up.

Of course, this won’t all happen right away and AEW is not going to sign every former WWE superstar that wants a new place to wrestle. However, these three superstars, in particular, would benefit immensely from jumping ship.

*We also won’t be including people who already appear to be on their way out, such as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, who will reportedly leave WWE after their contracts expire in September.
