WWE: Chad Gable to 205 Live is a blessing in disguise
Last night, Chad Gable made his debut on 205 Live – the WWE show that follows SmackDown Live. Could this really be a good thing for Gable?
I like 205 Live. Granted, I don’t watch it every single week and when I watch it live after attending a SmackDown show, more than half of the arena clears out before or during the show. It’s disappointing to see because the cruiserweight division is a serious underdog in WWE that fans should really be paying more attention to on 205 Live.
Especially now that Chad Gable has been introduced onto the show.
Gable has had an interesting run in WWE. Just when it looks like he’s getting his footing with a tag team partner – such as Robert Roode – WWE pulls the plug on it and he goes back into storage. But after seeing him pop up on SmackDown Live and then again on 205 Live, there’s hope for the talented Superstar.
205 Live, like NXT, features more wrestling than promos, but it’s likely due in part with their significantly shorter time frame per episode. That’s not to stay stories aren’t being played out, but the athletic side of sports entertainment is what’s showcased here. For Gable, this is a great way for him to really show people what he is fully capable of.
That’s not to say that he isn’t good at shooting a promo, because he is, but the guy has some serious talent in a way that I feel that the rest of the 205 Live crew pairs perfectly with him. With that said, there’s still a chance that he’ll appear sporadically on SmackDown, since 205 is filmed immediately after.
Last night, he opened the show with a match against Jack Gallagher and the two had a pretty fun match to watch. Gallagher isn’t too bad himself, and they absolutely work well off of one another. Gable had the upper hand throughout most of the match and wound up winning via count out. Kind of a cheap way to end a match, but that’s neither here nor there.
Here’s hoping he can really fly in 205 Live.
