Mark Henry shaves people in need for Father’s Day
WWE legend Mark Henry is known for his warmth outside the ring and desire to leave a positive impact on this world. On Father’s Day, the accomplished pro wrestler and lifter gave shaves and haircuts to homeless people in Austin, Texas.
A University of Texas at Austin alumni and a current resident of Texas’s capital, Mark Henry spent his Father’s Day helping those in his city who needed him the most. According to TMZ, Henry organized an event in Austin to shave and cut the hair of homeless people. Henry and Co. also offered food and water.
A clean shave and a fresh haircut can go a long way, because so many homeless people have trouble finding employment because of their appearance. Organizations such as Haircuts4Homeless have made a huge difference in people’s lives just by giving a fresh haircut, and even professional hairdressers have done their part to help.
The WWE Hall of Famer worked with local organizations like the Austin Area Urban League to make this happen. He told TMZ that he’s planning on visiting other cities in the United States to help give haircuts. He was clearly moved by this experience and it seems like this event had an important, tangible impact on people’s lives. If a clean appearance helps someone get a job, that can make all the difference in the world.
