Hangman Page vs Jimmy Havoc vs MJF vs Jungle Boy

We saw all four of these men compete in the Casino Battle Royale last month, with Hangman Page going on to win the match, along with the opportunity to face Chris Jericho at All Out for the AEW World Championship. However, this match wasn’t set up for their work on the pre-show. It was what happened on the main show that put this match into motion.

The main card saw WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart unveil the World Title, but not before being berated by MJF. Page, Jimmy Havoc and Jungle Boy all partook in running MJF off for his disrespect.

In the weeks since on AEW’s Being the Elite online show, MJF demanded a match against Hangman, but due to a miscommunication with Nick Jackson, he was booked in matches against Havoc and Jungle Boy before it was decided that all four men will compete at the show versus each other.

Page does not need to win this one as he already has a big match ahead of him next month. Granted, that doesn’t mean he should lose (be pinned or submitted) either. I feel like something will happen to neutralize Page on the outside of the ring – perhaps a surprise run-in from Jericho – while someone makes a pin in the ring to win the match. I think that someone will be MJF.

MJF impressed a lot of critics at last month’s show and the way they’re booking him so far, it seems evident that MJF is being pegged as a future star of the company; likely the top heel of the promotion. If that’s the direction the promotion is going in, he needs a win at AEW Fyter Fest to start boosting his in-ring credibility for fans less familiar with his work.

Winner: MJF
