AEW Fyer Fest opened with the triple threat tag team match, starting the show off hot.

Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) vs. SoCal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) vs. The Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta)

Trent opened the match with Kassidy, and after hitting a shoulder block, Trent tagged out to Chuck. Taylor also hit a shoulder block, knocking Kassidy to the mat. Kazarian came in next and faced off against Quen. Quen, however, got taken out wit ha great combo from Kaz, and him and Sky began to work over Marq.

Quen rolled out and Trent came in the ring and locked up with Scorpio Sky. As Trent did a go over, Kazarian nailed him with a dropkick, and SCU started a double teaming Trent Beretta. Beretta tried to make a comeback with a series of chops, but as Kazarian hit the ropes, Quen made a blind tag and took out both Kazarian and Trent.

Quen then took out everyone before Private Party started to double team Kazarian. Quen hit the Silly String, and Kassidy hit an Asai Moonsault to the outside onto everyone! SCU and the Best Friends entered the ring and swarmed Private Party and sent them to the outside. The Best friends hit a suplex on Kassidy on the floor while SCU double teamed Quen.

Kazarian hit a tornado DDT on Quen on the outside. Meanwhile, in the ring, the Best Friends double teamed Kassidy. SCU broke up the hug attempt, but the Best Friends sent SCU to the floor and then hugged each other. Chuck threw Kassidy like a lawn dart, and Trent hit an Ace crusher, but Kassidy kicked out.

Trent nailed Kassidy with a chop and tagged in Chuck. Trent came back in and hit a Northern Lights suplex, but Kassidy kicked out. Chuck hit a dropkick on Isiah’s arm and locked on a chin lock. Chuck hit Sole Food, but Kassidy responded with a kick of his own. Kassidy tried to make the tag, but Trent cut him off. Kassidy hit a back body drop, but his partner wasn’t there thanks to Trent. Kassidy, in desperation, tagged Kazarian in.

Sky and Kazarian hit a series of cutters, but Trent hit a Tornado DDT on Sky. Trent went for one on Kazarian, but Kazarian fought out and Quen knocked Kazarian out and hit a shooting star press on Trent for a near fall. Taylor hit a belly to belly on Quen sending him crashing into his own partner, followed with a piledriver. Trent and Chuck got a near fall on Private Party but couldn’t get the pinfall. SCU hit a series of double team moves for a near fall. SCU went for a doomsday device on Kassidy, but Kassidy crotched Kazarian.

Quen went to the top and went for a superplex but Trent flew to the top rope and hit a top rope belly to belly, but Quen landed on his feet! Quen then took out Trent and hit a hurricanrana on Kazarian for a near fall! Sky nailed Kassidy with a big boot, but Quen dropkicked him off the apron. Taylor back body dropped Quen over the top rope onto Sky. Taylor hit a knee on Kassidy, then the Sexy Chuckie Knee was hit by Trent on Kassidy. The Best Friends hit Strong Zero and got the pinfall!

Result: The Best Friends

Rating: *** (3 stars out of 5)

This was a great, exciting, fast paced tag match to open the show. It saw all three teams given lots of offence to look strong, and Private Party lost nothing in losing to the Best Friends. It took everything to beat them.

After the match, The Dark Order came on the screen, and Evil Uno cut a promo about how The Best Friends were their first target, and they will destroy them. The lights went out in the building after they snapped their fingers. As the lights came back on The Dark Order’s minions surrounded the ring. As Chuck and Trent waited for them to attack, the lights went off again and when they came back on, they were gone.

I’m not sure about The Dark Order, but I’m willing to give it time.

The Young Bucks came on the screen, and they played a video making fun of the Fyre Fest. This was absolutely fantastic.
