The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix) & Laredo Kid vs. The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, & Nick Jackson)

The Elite came out dressed as Akuma (Omega), Ryu (Matt Jackson), and Ken (Nick Jackson). Justin Roberts said, “Round One! Fight!” like it was Street Fighter, and it was awesome. Laredo and Nick Jackson started the match, locking up and exchanging some quick moves and holds, ending with a double dropkick where neither man had the advantage.

Laredo Kid locked Nick in a headlock and hit the ropes before slapping Nick in the back of the head. Kid slid to the apron and hit a diving crossbody, but they exchanged a series of moves again, including blocked superkicks. Soon, all six men were in the ring facing off, with Omega and Pentagon face to face, playing off their All In match last year.

The Elite hit the ropes, but superkicks and a dropkick stopped them. Laredo Kid hit a Asai Moonsault as the Lucha Bros hit stero tope con giros. Pentagon hit a sling blade on Omega then put Kid on Matt Jackson’s shoulders and superkicked Matt into a reverse hurricanrana. Laredo Kid hit a moonsault on Nick Jackson and got a near fall.

Nick Jackson took both Lucha Brothers down with a flying headscissors and Matt Jackson hit a series of rolling Northern Lights suplexes on Laredo Kid and the Lucha Bros too. Matt tagged in Kenny Omega, who got a massive pop. Omega has gotten the biggest reaction of the night, to be sure. Omega chopped the crap out of Kid and hit a diving elbow strike in the corner.

Omega hit a huge backbreaker, but Kid kicked out. Omega hit a dropkick right to Kid’s face as he went for a flying cross body off the top rope. Omega went for Rise of the Terminator, but Pentagon Jr cut him off and said “No! Cero Miedo!” and these two picked up right where they left off at all in. Pentagon threw his glove to the ref and shoved Omega.

Both men started exchanging strikes, and Pentagon killed Omega with a chop, but Omega hit a dropkick to the knee and a crusher, but Fenix cut him off. The Bucks superkicked him off the apron, and the Elite were alone with Laredo Kid. Omega hit a straight jacket German suplex on Kid. Omega went for You Can’t Escape, hit it, and the Bucks followed with Matt Jackson hitting an elbow, and Nick Jackson hitting a senton bomb.

Laredo Kid kicked out as Omega covered him with his one foot, with a very Jericho like pinfall. Omega might have been sending a message to Chris Jericho. Laredo Kid hit a drop toe hold on Matt which sent him into Nick, spearing him. Laredo Kid landed on his feet after an Omega German attempt.

Pentagon hit a superkick on Matt Jackson and hit a lung blower on Omega. Fenix hit a pump kick on Omega on the floor and a step up Rana on Omega. Laredo Kid hit a suicide dive on Nick Jackson. Pentagon hit a flying double stomp on Matt Jackson, who was in the ring. Matt Jackson kicked out.
Pentagon tried to break Matt Jackson’s arm, but Matt rolled out and hit a series of strikes on Pentagon before hitting a Canadian Destroyer and a spear on Pentagon! Matt Jackson made the hot tag to Omega, and Pentagon got to Laredo Kid, but Omega didn’t see it. Omega hit a snap dragon suplex on both Pentagon and Fenix, and then a V-Trigger on Kid and a snap dragon on him too!

Omega went to the middle rope, but Pentagon kicked him in the face. Pentagon sent Nick Jackson to the outside and backdropped his own brother over the top rope, and over the turnbuckle onto Nick Jackson! Nick Jackson superkicked Kid, Fenix superkicked Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson superkicked Fenix, Pentagon superkicked Matt, Omega superkicked Pentagon, and all the men were down.

The Elite hit a triple superkick on all three men, then a triple Liger bomb for the near fall. Fenix and Laredo Kid were propped up on the middle ropes, and Nick Jackson hit a 450 splash on both of them. Pentagon punted Omega in the head. Nick Jackson went for a moonsault to the outside on Pentagon, but Pentagon dodged and hit a slingblade on Nick. Omega hit a V-Trigger on Kid and went for the Rise of the Terminator again.

Fenix cut him off and hit a cutter, but Nick Jackson ran in and attacked. All men ended up on the outside and Fenix managed to hit a Spanish Fly onto everyone while Nick Jackson was balanced on the ropes. Omega hit a V-Trigger and a Jay Driller on Kid, but Kid kicked out. Omega killed him with a V-Trigger again and then hit the One Winged Angel for the pinfall!

Result: The Elite

Rating: ****1/2 (4.5 stars out of 5)

Holy cow, this match was wild. This was an excellent match, and absolutely one that is must watch on the card. Omega got a big win heading into his match against CIMA and then Jon Moxley at All Out!

Omega and Pentagon faced off after the match, indicating that this isn’t over yet.
