Evolve 10th Anniversary: Live Results/Reactions for WWE Network special
Josh Briggs vs Anthony Greene
At the very start of the show, Josh Briggs is fired up and ready to take advantage of an opportunity live on the WWE Network. He challenges Greene to start their match RIGHT NOW!
The former offensive lineman flings the smaller man left and right across the ring. Greene tries to mount a comeback while Briggs hits a backbreaker for a 2-count.
It isn’t until Greene’s manager, Brandi Lauren interferes by yanking on Briggs’ leg. This allows Greene to to take advantage with a kick on the apron. He then attempts a suicide dive only for Briggs to catch him in mid-air with a chokeslam on the apron. Greene is able to recover with a springboard RKO on the apron.
Greene mudhole stomps Briggs in the ring before jaw jacking with the ref, which allows Lauren to slap Briggs behind his back.
Briggs manages a comeback. Hits a Razors Edge Powerslam Combo – similar to Lance Hoyt’s Blackout – for a two count. Greene recovers for a Facebuster DDT type move for a 2 count, but immediately recovers with a Half Crab until Briggs makes the ropes.
Lauren helps balance Greene on the apron before getting ejected. Greene capitalizes with a victory roll from the top rope, for a 2 count.
Briggs attempts a chokeslam only for Greene to flip out of it and attempt a Half Crab, but Briggs scouts it and counts with a Chokeslam-Powerbomb Combo for the win.
Winner: Briggs.
Grade: B+
Solid way to open the show. Enjoyed this very much, especially the classic heel work from Lauren and Greene, as well as Briggs playing the powerful big man.
