The Undertaker

Bray Wyatt and The Undertaker faced off at WrestleMania 31, and it was probably the best WrestleMania match “The Deadman” has had in the last six years. The promo battles were predictably memorable, and Wyatt did his best to make fans wonder if he could actually pull off a victory one year after Brock Lesnar shocked the WWE Universe by breaking the streak.

It’s honestly become hard to watch Taker now that he’s in the twilight of his career, but he’s still interested in putting on his boots and doing what he loves most. The Undertaker, in fact, is teaming up with Roman Reigns to face the heel duo of Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon at Extreme Rules, not long after his woeful match with Goldberg in Saudi Arabia. (OK, the less said about that, the better.)

There really aren’t many (if any) matches we’d want to see The Undertaker compete in at this stage of his career, but a match with “The New” Bray Wyatt (apologies to Daniel Bryan for the steal) is one of those select few exceptions. Wyatt vs. Undertaker is a timeless battle of wits, and Wyatt is experienced enough to where his wrestling style wouldn’t tax Taker physically. This match would be all about slower pacing and story-telling, which The Undertaker definitely can still do.

So why not highlight Taker’s strengths? There doesn’t have to be a winner here so that both men are kept strong, but it wouldn’t be a bad thing for Bray to be the one to retire Taker at SummerSlam. Sure, it would seem weird for that moment not to happen at WrestleMania and maybe Roman Reigns should be the last person to beat Taker, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of this match happening with Taker still going at it in 2019. The timing could be right for Wyatt, after all.
