4. AJ Styles

AJ Styles defeated Ricochet at Extreme Rules to become the new United States Champion. These two superstars never fail to impress. Albeit Ricochet’s title reign was short-lived, he is still has many years ahead of him to connect more deeply with the WWE fan base and win more championships.

Besides, Styles had assistance from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to win the championship, Ricochet will most likely challenge Styles for the championship again. This rematch can be feasibly booked on Raw, where Styles should retain.

While Ricochet has a lot of time, Styles doesn’t have that much time left. At 42 years old, Styles needs as many moments as he can get, especially since he only arrived to the WWE three years ago.

Going forward, Styles should defend his championship against a new competitor at SummerSlam in order to maximize his time in the WWE.

A prime opponent would be Seth Rollins, who just lost his Universal Championship and would be hungry for another championship if he is unable to get back into the Universal Championship picture immediately.

Another ideal opponent would be Braun Strowman, who just earned a big win over Bobby Lashley in a Last Man Standing Match at Extreme Rules. He has never pursued a mid-card title before, so that would be new.

Heck, even Rey Mysterio, who relinquished the United States Championship to Samoa Joe, could end up targeting Styles for the championship. In fact, there have been insider rumors of Styles wanting to feud with Mysterio on the red brand for a while now, so that’s not completely out of the conversation.

It is clear that Styles has plenty of options ahead of him. He is bound to take advantage of those options before his career ever comes to close. Until then, let’s appreciate his U.S. Championship reign, which should be fruitful and worth scrutinizing as he continues to be phenomenal day by day.

3. Roman Reigns And The Undertaker

Speaking of old age, Undertaker also looked like a million bucks at WWE Extreme Rules. After his terribly string of matches lately, he revived himself when he performed spectacularly with Roman Reigns to defeat Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon. However, it’s evidently not Undertaker’s last match.

There are widespread rumors of Undertaker facing McIntyre while Reigns faces Shane McMahon at SummerSlam. If these matches were to occur, Undertaker is bound to push McIntyre, while Reigns ends Shane McMahon’s run as “Best In The World” once and for all.

Nonetheless, these two started the show off with a bang and almost earned match of the night. Sad to say, they had some “real competition” in that department.
