WWE SummerSlam: 5 possible opponents for Brock Lesnar
Becky Lynch
Well, we started this slideshow with a hot take, so it is only natural that we end with an even bigger hot take that might be even less likely to happen. Then again, as with the Taker vs. Lesnar scenario, you never know what’s going on in WWE’s hive mind nowadays. Especially after Becky Lynch suffered an End of Days from Baron Corbin last night, which in itself was totally unexpected and out of character from WWE. And I mean that in the most refreshing way possible.
This was the first time since the Royal Rumble – which feels like forever ago, come to think about it – where we saw a man not only wrestle a woman whilst both were on equal footing rather than the man being a comedy wrestler (i.e. Ellsworth), but the first time since Nia Jax got nailed with an RKO that a man actually hit a woman with a move.
Since Jax’s match with Dean Ambrose was cancelled so many months ago, we assumed that WWE was done testing the waters with intergender wrestling, but last night seems to suggest they aren’t. Assuming last night just wasn’t a one-off thing, who’s to say they won’t go all the way and have Becky go after the men’s World Title in an attempt to become the first woman to hold it?
Plus, Becky did say that she was on a quest to become a Champ Champ again. She never specified which belt she wanted to make her a double champion.
Impact Wrestling held their own main event intergender match on PPV not too long ago. If WWE’s serious about producing a change and combating competition, this might be an idea strumming in their mind right now.
