Elias’ live performance

Among the matches advertised for the card, Elias is scheduled to hold his signature in-ring performance for the city of Nashville. The Living Truth has done enough of these to the point that we can pretty much telegraph how tonight’s segment is going to play out. Lights out, lights back on, Elias in the ring, “Walk with Elias” catchphrase to a huge pop, trashes the crowd to bring the pop down, chorus of boos, says he’ll beat up anyone who interrupts his performance, performance gets interrupted, Elias gets beat up.

Even when the segments are entertaining, it’s not hard to figure out how they play out. But hey, it’s a formula that works and has especially worked wonders for Elias as a character and a heel. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, so I won’t say WWE should cut or change the formula. What I do have to wonder, however, is who will be beating up Elias this time tonight.

WWE have plenty of options. They are in Nashville, after all, so I feel like an appearance from Jerry “The King” Lawler is inevitable. The dude is from Memphis, but hey, close enough. Hard to separate Nashville from Memphis out of a Usual Suspects line-up anyway. No disrespect to our Tennessee readers.

Anyway, I think King interrupts Elias and because it just so happens that King will be holding his King’s Court segment on SmackDown Live with special guest Trish Stratus, a woman who is heavily rumored to be facing Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam, King makes that announcement tonight as well before decking Elias in the face; both to a massive pop. Because Memphis.

Prediction: Elias gets molly wopped by King’s fist
