JAM: Sanity got treated like Mania main eventers compared to The Ascension.

The Ascension were the longest reigning NXT Tag Champs ever before getting called up to get squashed by everyone, including a bunch of old timers.

And especially compared to The Revival. Can’t recall Sanity ever having to scratch their ass against the mat because of Ucey Hot, or shave each other’s backs. In fact, Eric Young shaving Killian Dain’s back would’ve at least got them screen time.

That’s what it boils down to, really. Mistreated’s a strong word. I wouldn’t say Sanity were mistreated in their run. You’ve got to be used to be mistreated. They weren’t placed in demeaning or embarrassing segments. Just underused. They’d lose one match, then disappear for several months before coming back to lose another one-off match. They were just underused, seemingly because WWE just didn’t know what to do with them.

I feel like Nikki would’ve helped that direction a bit. Even in NXT, Nikki’s presence helped Sanity stand out and separated them from your average crazy stable. Without her, Sanity’s just felt like a lite-Wyatt Family without the rocking chairs. But with her, a lot of story potential came from that alliance in NXT and I think the same potential would’ve sprouted on the main roster had they all got called up together.

BG: First, let me introduce you to EC3. He has all the skills to be not just a star in WWE, but the star. He’s got amazing promo skills, can bring it in a main event, and has a proven track record when it comes to carrying a company. Considering his current gimmick is basically him being depressed by his lack of push, I would say he’s the most mistreated NXT call-up.

Now, that’s not to say Sanity isn’t in the top five, if not top three. Eric Young is a similarly amazing superstar who’s practically nonexistent on the main roster. Throw in the fact that two members are now back in NXT like you mentioned, and I have to say you make a compelling point. Nevertheless, I stand by my point that EC3 could be the whole face of WWE if booked properly.

Oh, and I think Nikki Cross debuting with them wouldn’t have changed anything. To me, it felt like Sanity suffered from a lack of direction from the get-go, and I can’t help but think Cross would’ve suffered the same fate at the time.

PC: It’s difficult to clearly identify the most mistreated or most poorly booked NXT call-up so far. There are cases to be made for a lot of names. EC3, The Ascension, Bo Dallas, Tyler Breeze, and many others have reasons to be in the running.

Personally, the biggest fumble ever was somehow ruining Bayley when she was brought to the main roster. Bayley is fantastic and was eventually able to rehabilitate her career, but things were very bad to start.

SAnitY might have benefitted from the presence of Nikki Cross, but they still could’ve been completely ignored. It’s a shame they weren’t used properly, but it’s not really a surprise. They’ve all managed to move on to different things and grow, and Eric Young will find his place when the time is right.
