NJPW G1 Climax A-Block Finals: Results, Grades, and Analysis

Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki, Kanemaru, & Taichi) vs. CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI, & Hirooki Goto)

Wrestling in the same match as Minoru Suzuki before you have a match the next night to potentially win the B-Block doesn’t bode well for Goto. Suzuki attempted to murder Goto multiple times in this match, in between hitting Young Lions with chairs. Suzuki ended up murdering YOSHI-HASHI with a Gotch Style Piledriver for the win.

Bullet Club (Jay White, Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi) w/ Gedo vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Shingo, Tetsuya Naito, & BUSHI)

The early portion of this match saw the Bullet Club get the heat on BUSHI, and the smallest man in the match took quite a beating for the first few minutes until BUSHI nailed Chase Owens with an enziguri. BUSHI couldn’t make the tag, however, as Yujiro knocked Shingo of the apron. BUSHI did manage to tag out to Naito though, and White tagged in as well, so we have a preview of tomorrow’s match!

A lot is at stake in the match, as White and Naito are both in the running for winning the block. Naito outwrestled him, but White was able to get the advantage with some cheap shots. Naito hit a huge Satellite DDT, driving White to the mat. Shingo tagged in, but Chase and Yujiro got some good double team moves on him before Shingo and Naito paid Yujiro back with some double team moves of their own. BUSHI hit a dive on Chase Owens and Shingo hit a Pumping Bomber followed with Made in Japan on Yujiro for the pinfall.

After the match, Naito stood right by White and taunted him, claiming he couldn’t understand what White was saying and asked him to speak in Spanish. White got infuriated and swore at him and left saying “You’re the last one I need!” This will be great.
