1. A lack of screen time for recent NXT call-ups

WWE has done a huge disservice to most of it’s recent NXT call-ups over the past few months.

After weeks and weeks of vignettes, Aleister Black finally received some noteworthy matches against Cesaro and Sami Zayn. That still led to him remaining without a spot on the SummerSlam card, while still honestly struggling to find an actual week-to-week ongoing rivalry on either major brand.

Heavy Machinery, on the other hand, broke through and got that major rivalry with Daniel Bryan and Rowan for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships a little while ago. They looked every bit the stars that you would have expected them to be in that feud too.

Then, they were gone. Otis and Tucker just dropped off the face of the earth basically after that, leaving behind what looked to be the makings of a very promising push.

Finally, don’t even get me started on EC3. Please, just don’t.

Now, the Raw and SmackDown after SummerSlam are typically known as potential stages to debut new NXT superstars on the main roster. What’s to say the same fate doesn’t befall someone like Johnny Gargano or Shayna Baszler like it has any of these other superstars though?

Not only does WWE need to find a direction for those new call-ups then, they also need to find ways to push the old call-ups they’ve only scratched the surface of investing in so far.

Going forward, that is the biggest challenge WWE faces in my opinion. I suppose having an overabundance of spectacular talent is never a bad problem to have, but finding a way to showcase all of that talent is something which needs to be a top priority then.

If WWE can somehow find a way to successfully address that, along with their other problems areas, then they should be on the fast track to having a rather successful next few months though.
