4. Samoa Joe Defeats Cesaro

Since joining the Raw roster via the Superstar Shakeup, former United States Champions Samoa Joe and Cesaro have had some pretty unfortunate booking circumstances.

While Cesaro has been busy losing to Aleister Black and earning zero title opportunities, Samoa Joe was busy losing all of the title matches he was involved in.

However, there has been a new spurt of resurgence for the Samoan Submission Machine. Two weeks ago, Samoa Joe was involved in a heated angle with Roman Reigns since he was wrongfully held culpable for potentially ‘murdering’ him.

Although Roman Reigns’ ‘murderer’ storyline is not germane to the King of the Ring Tournament, Samoa Joe has definitely gained some babyface momentum from being involved in said storyline. This babyface momentum was exemplified by his recent empathy for Reigns, as well as a quick win over the heel Sami Zayn last week on Raw.

Albeit his empathy for Reigns’ misfortunes is not extended to the WWE universe, he can still be the anti-babyface who says what the crowd wants to hear and does what the crowd wants to see, while still opposing the crowd from time to time.

Since there’s nothing going on for the multi-talented Swiss Superman since he separated from Sheamus, Joe has more going for him as a potential babyface and needs the win more to solidify his turn to the bright side.

Considering that Joe has been defeating heel superstars lately, the heel Cesaro could be in for a rude awakening. Consequently, Samoa Joe should be a safe pick to advance in the King of the Ring Tournament.
